The short version
Holy Mood Bible does not require an account, does not run analytics, and does not sell or share your data. Your selected mood, your reading history, and any notes you keep stay on your device. The only network call the app makes is to a public Bible text API to fetch the verse you tap for — and that request contains nothing about you.
What we collect
Nothing personal. The app does not ask for your name, email, phone number, age, or location. There is no sign-up, no profile, and no login.
On-device data only. Your last selected mood and any verses you favorite (when that feature ships) are stored in your device’s local storage. We never see or transmit this data. If you delete the app, this data is removed with it.
Network requests we make
When you tap the face to receive a verse, the app sends a request to bible-api.com, a free public API that returns the text of a Bible passage in the World English Bible translation. The request contains only the verse reference (for example,
isaiah+40:31). It does not include any identifier for you or your device. We do not control or operate bible-api.com; see their site for their own practices.Crash logs and diagnostics
If you have enabled “Share with App Developers” in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may share anonymized crash reports with us to help us fix bugs. These reports never contain personal information. You can turn this off in iOS Settings at any time.
What we do not do
- We do not use third-party analytics (no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Firebase Analytics).
- We do not show advertising and do not work with ad networks.
- We do not track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell, rent, or share data with anyone.
- We do not use cookies on this website beyond what is strictly required to deliver the page.
Children's privacy
The app is suitable for all ages and does not collect any data that would implicate the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) or the UK’s Age-Appropriate Design Code. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, we collect none from children.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to export, correct, or delete on request. If you would like to remove the local data the app keeps on your device, delete the app or use iOS Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Holy Mood Bible → Delete App.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change — for instance, if we add an optional cloud-sync feature in a future version — we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above, and we will not apply any new collection retroactively to existing users without an in-app notice.
